Baer and Associates Cyclocross 2008
Posted on September 28, 2008
We went to shoot a cycling event of a different nature, this one was sort of a cross between a crit and mountain biking I’d say. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s how I would describe it. I TOTALLY enjoyed shooting this race, I usually only go to shoot cycling events because hubby likes them. It was drizzling all morning and we were on the fence about actually going, and finally decided to go and see what happens. I’m SO glad we did. Not only was this event very cool, the countryside was amazing! {Stay tuned for some eye-candy landscapes!} Hope we can shoot more of this kind of racing in the future…. LOVED IT!!

Digital paintings from images I took this afternoon. I asked for permission to take their photo and their parents didn’t hesitate to say yes, I was actually quite surprised! Glad I asked.

Buffalo Zoo revisted!
Posted on September 20, 2008
The weather was perfect today so hubby and I made a trip back to the Buffalo Zoo. The day couldn’t have been any better. The Bengal Tiger cubs were chasing each other through the water pond and around the enclosure and it was really wonderful to see their youthful antics. We spent almost the entire day there just hanging out. I was so anxious to get home and see if I captured anything special and I was not disappointed!

Majestic Beasts
Posted on September 19, 2008
I wish I could have gotten to the zoo earlier in the day and had spent as much time as I could there, but it wasn’t the case. My time was limited, but I think it was time well spent. If the weather is good, I might head back this weekend and spend tons of time there for inspiration.

Finding the mojo
Posted on September 19, 2008
A cyber friend gave me some advice… get back to shooting the things I love to shoot and my mojo will come back, so that’s what I did yesterday. I took a trip to the Buffalo Zoo in the afternoon {full sunlight, probably not the smartest time of day} and really enjoyed the time. I stayed where I wanted to stay, and passed up the exhibits I didn’t want to view. I only have a few to post this morning, had a rough night and didn’t sleep well.

Another landscape scene from when I was supposed to be shooting the cycling event in Akron. I couldn’t help myself, I kept getting side tracked!

Beaver Island Park
Posted on September 17, 2008
I took about an hour this afternoon to go for a walk at Beaver Island. I hadn’t been out by myself for what seems like ages, it was really nice. This little fledgling must have been on the ground because I scared it up into the blowing mustard weeds and it didn’t try to fly away at all. It more or less hopped/struggled around the weeds so I’m sure it was fresh out of the nest. I won’t try to ID this little one, as I’m never ever right when it comes to birds anyway so there’s no point in trying. He/She was SOOOO sweet, I could hardly pull myself away!

Akron NY
Posted on September 16, 2008
Last weekend we took a little trip to photograph a cycling road race out in Akron. I don’t much like shooting these races, but my husband enjoys it so I usually end up going along. I think I enjoyed the scenery more than the race this time. I couldn’t help but notice how much the leaves were already beginning to change colors. My prediction for this season’s color change will be that it happens gradually and doesn’t last very long at its peak…. and isn’t as colorful as I have seen in previous seasons. Hoping I’m wrong, but have a feeling I’m not. {at least for this general location that is!}

Blogger Issue, anyone else?
Posted on September 16, 2008
Is anyone else having issues with blogger when trying to cut and paste within a post before it gets published? Sometimes I want to move images to different positions and I used to be able to just ctrl x, ctrl v an image and viola… but not since I shut down the old blog and opened this one. What gives?

I’d like to give a shout of thanks out to this lovely young lady for hanging with us yesterday and allowing us to grab a few shots of her. This gal is full of natural poses, just LOVED working with her!
On a side note… for those of you who might have noticed, this blog was shut down for a while, I’ll try to keep it going for a bit longer. No promises, sometimes I just have to take a few steps back and evaluate where I am and what I really want to be doing. Thanks for checking back in!
